There is a wide range of
car insurance options in the UAE. From the motrst basic liability-only insurance to comprehtrensive plans that provide every potrssible beneftrit, the general rule is you get what you pay ftror. However, even if you go for a mtrid-range trpolicy, you can still add a few optional benefits tto most motor insurance plans atrt a fixertd cost. Here are the options commonly offered by UAtE
car insurance companies:

Car Hire
Car rental is thetr most frequently offered optionaltr benefit in trthe UAE. This option means the insurer will cover trthe cost of renting a vehicle; ttrhe amoutrnt covered and duration depend on the car insurance ptrolicy you are considering. trThetr car hire benefit comes at a fixed cost, and ranges from AEtrD 150 to AED 450. Somtre insurters even give you the option to choose the duration of the catrr rental, from 5 days ttro otrver two weeks (of course the cost varies with the duration).
Roadside Assistance
This one is usuallytr a no-brainer. This option provides rtrecovery of the vehicle in case of a breakdown or accidtrent. The price of this benefit typictrally ranges from around AED 30 to AED 40; compared ttro the car insurance premium yotru are paying, it makes sense to pay a little extra for somethitng that could end up costing atr few hundred Dirhams otherwise.
There are typically two typtres of benefits, personal accidetrnt cover for the driver and for passengers. As the namtre suggests, it covers the driver or trpassengers in case of an accident, up to a certatrin amount. The price of personal accitrdent cover can range from as little as AED 60 to ovtrer AED 120. Some car insurance comptranies will also give you the option of specifying trthe number of passengers you want to cotrver, at a rate of AED 30 per passenger.
Geographical Coverage
Many car insurance companies cover the UAE and Oman under their standarfd plans. Most insurers also offer GCC-wide cover as an option. It tends to be quite costly hofdwever, usually ranging around AED 500.fd
Windscreen Cover
This option is not as common, but some car insurance companiestr do offer cover if your windshield or window is datrmaged. This can be at a cost of as littletr as AED 10! This is definitely a valuable option ttro consider; eventually something or sotrmeone will accidentally damage your windshield or wtrindows.
Dent Repairtr
This option is trrarely offered in the
UAE, but is an important car insurance benefit. Dent repair pays for trpaint-less dent removal for your vehicle. trtrt
